People often wonder about the flutes which I play - where they are from, who made them, etc. The flute pictured to the top right is a numbered Woodrow Haney flute from the Five Civilized Tribes Museum of Muskogee, Oklahoma. There are wonderful histories available as to Woodrow's considerable contribution to the art of Native American Flute making and song crafting. I had the honor of playing for several of Woodrow's relatives...members of the Haney family and they were always pleased that one of Woodrow's flute tradition was being shared with people all around. The other flutes which I play (pictured bottom right) were made by a student of Woodrow Haney, Mr. Ron Sapp. Ron has continued the tradition of flute craftsmanship preferring to hand construct his flutes as much as possible. They have wonderful tone and are smooth to the touch. You may contact Ron Sapp at Wolf and Eagle Cry Flutes for further information regarding his flutes.
